2019-02-19
Thomas Julius Stewart, age 74 of Yulee, Florida passed away on Monday, February 18, 2019 at UF Health in Jacksonville.
He was born in Brunswick, Georgia to the late Julius Ellis Stewart and Minnie Lee Tanner and moved to Jacksonville as a child, graduating from Ribault High School. After graduation, he served honorably and with distinction in the US Army in Vietnam as an MP and sharp shooter.

He met his future wife Bonnie Faye Mills in Jacksonville, Florida in 1966. They married in 1968. Thomas and Bonnie moved to Yulee in 1971, where he was employed as a security guard.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, JW Stewart and John Stewart and sisters, Susie Miller and Joann Adams.
He leaves behind, his wife of over 50 years, Bonnie Faye Stewart of Yulee, Florida; daughter, Cissy Tatum and her husband Tate of Yulee, Florida; son, Lee Stewart and his companion Rhosalee of Jacksonville, Florida; sister, Wilma (Dave) Watson of Jacksonville, Florida; brother, Robert (Iris) Stewart of Jacksonville, Florida; grandchildren, Chris (Marissa)Rowell, Christiana (AJ) Brixon, Allyssa Stewart, Audrey Tatum, Allen Tatum, Sand and Sid Mangalindan, Robert Stewart; great-grand child, Lexar Brixon and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dear Stewart Family, We met in 1978 when we moved here to Yulee and have been close friends since . Tom was the first person to welcome us to the neighborhood by coming over with Cissy and Lee to introduce us to his family . Our children grew up together as friends of the same age. Everyone loved Tom and respected him and his funny attitude towards life . He has certainly left a good imprint on my life. I will greatly miss him and our travels together also his whistling entertainment making us guess that tune. Faye you have been my best friend for most of my adult life, I will always be here for you. Love and Condolences to all the Stewart Family

Dear Aunt Faye, (Cissy, Lee and families),I am so sorry for your loss, Uncle Tommy impacted everyone of us in a tremendous way, Aunt Faye you both have always been there for me , always an encourager and shown great strength in many of my trials, I love you very much, Uncle Tommy called me several times after Jeff passed away and that was such a blessing to me, even in his battles, during his darkest hours he found time to call me and let me know he was thinking about me. He was always so funny and knew how to make me laugh, I pray that God lifts you up and carries you through this trial. know that he was loved and so are you.

1st Corinthians 15 > 51-52 : Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shell be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. - I would like to thank Mr, Stewart has both hands on that old cane pole in the Kingdom Of Heaven.
