Rest in peace. You made your mark on our area and this earth. Very grateful our paths crossed.

Thomas L. Luke

2025-12-02

Thomas Litteral Luke,84, of Jacksonville, passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville.

Mr. Luke was born in Lafayette, Indiana and was a son of the late Thomas Jasper and Mary Litteral Luke. He served his country honorably in the U. S. Army. He attended DePaul University and graduated from Purdue University.

He moved to the Jacksonville area more than 50 years ago and was the owner of his own Civil Contracting firm, Brown and Luke Contracting, for over 40 years. He was dedicated to his work and never truly retired. He continued to work until his health limited him from doing so.

Away from work, Mr. Luke enjoyed playing golf. To say he was an avid golfer would be an understatement. He would be on the course whenever he could. Along with golf, Mr. Luke got his biggest enjoyment with his Grandson, Alex. He also was a huge Jacksonville Jaguars fan. He loved watching them play and following them through their ups and downs.

Mr. Luke leaves behind his nine children, Jason, Sherry, Tommy, Jeff, Lisa, Sierra, Allen, Amber and Josh; his sister, Sally as well as his cousins, Tommy, Anita and many others.

Mr. Luke’s family will receive friends Saturday, December 13, 2025 from 2:00 until 4:00 PM at Oxley-Heard Funeral Directors. He will be laid to rest at Bosque Bello Cemetery at a later date.
