Thomas P. Donaldson, 79, of Amelia Island, Florida passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 surrounded by his family.

He was born on December 9, 1941 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Martha Barnett Pollock and John Donaldson. He grew up in Philadelphia and graduated with a BS in Finance from Drexel University. He married Cheryl Ann Leed in 1968.

Tom began his career with Fidelity Mutual Life Insurance Company in Philadelphia where he became a Senior Vice President. He would later become President and CEO of LOMA in Atlanta, Georgia, an association of financial services companies. He retired in 2008 and became a resident of Amelia Island, a favorite vacation spot. Spending time with his family was his favorite activity. He enjoyed reading, especially historical fiction, playing golf and traveling abroad. Tom served on the Amelia Island Club Board and was a member of the Amelia Plantation Chapel.

He is preceded in death by his parents and infant daughter, Rebecca. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Cheryl, his son Brent and daughter-in-law Cindy of New York City, his daughter Amanda and son-in-law Drew of Matthews, North Carolina, and 4 grandchildren Cole, Brooks, Nina and Liza. They knew him as Pop Pop.

A celebration of his life will be held at a future date.
