Valentine and I met when our first children were less than a year old. We lived in Atlanta in Sagamore Hills. I was desperate for a friend with children and God led me to the Hayes house. We became great friends and shared so many wonderful times together with our new babies On our toddler's 2nd Easter, Valentine invited us over Easter Sunday before church. We were all dressed up for church and our beautiful children, Amber and Charlie, looked adorable. The back of the Hayes's home was filled with beautiful azaleas all in bloom. Valentine had already placed Easter eggs in the yard for the kids to find. I have such amazing photos and happy memories of us with our toddler's hunting for eggs. Valentine was such a great mother, since she had been a teacher, and always had great ideas for us to do with our toddler's. My son, Charlie:is now 42 and remembers those times. Valentine was such a great friend to me and I will always cherish her friendship and wonderful times together.. I will always hold her close to my heart and look forward to seeing her again in heaven. She had a beautiful life, a wonderful, loving husband and loving.loyal children. I will miss her greatly. Our love and prayers go out to Henry, Amber, and John

Valentine was one of a kind. She was always so gracious and carried herself with confidence. I have admired her since the first time I met her in the 1970’s. Valentine had impeccable taste. I was so blessed to have known and loved her for 50+ years. I am sure her big brown eyes are shining as she greets loved ones who have gone on before her. Be comforted dear family in knowing Valentine is well and awaiting your time to join her in Heaven.

Valentine was the most delightful friend. She always had a smile on her face and wanted to hear news about our family. She will be missed. We loved seeing her in her daily walks in her red Hermes hat. She was generous with her time and a bright light in our lives.
