Virginia C. Landers

Our beloved �Suga,� Virginia C. Landers, 92, passed away on Oct. 19, 2016.
She was born in Caswell County, N.C., and moved to Richmond, Va., where she spent most of her adult life. Ms. Landers was active for many years in the Red Hat Ladies, Order of the Eastern Star and Friendship Baptist Church of Chester, Va., where she sang in the choir. Upon moving to Fernandina Beach, she joined First Baptist Church.
She enjoyed working as a dental assistant for 20 years in Richmond. Ms. Landers loved cooking, baking and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed crocheting and fruitcake parties with old neighbors and friends.
She was predeceased by her youngest daughter, Susan Hammond; a sister, Dorothy Haufler; and brothers, Earl Crumpton and Wallace Crumpton.
She leaves behind her daughter, Dottie Richards (Charles) of Fernandina Beach; and a son, Neil M. Fisher of Statesville, N.C.; along with brothers, Ronald Crumpton (Joyce) of Danville, Va., and Clarence Crumpton (Cotton) of Winter Haven; and grandchildren, Charles Richards Jr., Natalie Richards, Lauren Chauncey, Keri Stinnett, Benjamin Hammond Jr., Robert Fisher and Ashby Seyler-Schmidt. She was dearly loved by her great-grandchildren, Kassidy Fisher, Matison Smith, Ally Richards, Harper and Ryan Chauncey, and Jacob and Mackenzie Seyler-Schmidt.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at the Burgess Chapel, with receiving of friends one hour prior to service time.
Interment will be at Bosque Bello Cemetery following the service.
