Vivienne M. Douglas

2021-05-25

Vivienne Maud Douglas, aged 93, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2021. She now joins her late husband, James Hunter Douglas, who passed away on November 1, 2014 at the age of 90. They had been married for 68 years.
Vivienne was born on July 14, 1927 in the Parish of St. Ann, Kingston, Jamaica to Samuel Lee and Elgeta Eames Lee, and immigrated to the United States with her husband and 3 sons in 1957.
She leaves behind these sons, Curt (with wife Cynthia), Neil (with wife Lisa), and Derek (with wife Lisa), 7 grandchildren, and numerous great- grandchildren.

She attended Suthermere Business College in Kingston, Jamaica and Irvine City College in Irvine, CA and was especially proud to have worked for Honeywell Aerospace Corp in St. Petersburg, FL in the 1970’s. She retired to Fernandina Beach in early 2000.

Vivienne loved to play Bridge and had been an active member in the Newcomers Club of Fernandina Beach. But her greatest joy was traveling the world and making new friends wherever she went. She especially enjoyed visiting Europe, most notably Germany and Austria.
Her family and friends will forever remember her as an outgoing and loving woman, one who enjoyed life and people, one who loved to dance and share a glass or two of champagne.
A celebration of her life will be planned in the near future.
