Wallace E. Burkett, 82 of Fernandina Beach, Florida passed away on June 12, 2025.
Born in Coffee County, Georgia to the late Elmer & Avie Burkett. He grew up in Coffee County, Georgia. Moved to Fernandina Beach in1962. Retired from Anheuser-Busch after 25 years to continue his passion as a cattle rancher and farmer for the rest of his life with his sidekick cattle dog Maddie. He enjoyed working with cattle and farming on the land and fishing. Mr.Wallace loved his family and worked hard to provide for his family.
He is predeceased by his parents and 7 siblings.
He leaves behind Ernie Faye Burkett, wife of 62 years. His two children,son Ferrell Burkett (Heidi) of Fernandina Beach and daughter, Wendy Shelton (Carl) of Byron Georgia; grandchildren, Amber Edwards, Erica Shelton, CJ Shelton; great grand children, Jonah and Abe; nephew, Trent Cady (Serena); niece, Heather Braddy (Todd) and special close friends, Damon & Jamie Rowland.
Visitation will be held at Oxley-Heard Funeral Home on Monday, June 16, 2025 from 5 – 7 p.m.
