2021-10-29
William “Billy” C. Leach, 53, of Jacksonville passed away Friday, October 29, 2021 at UF Health North.
He was born in Dumas, AR and was the son of the late Donald E. and Esther Beauchamp Leach.
Billy moved to the area with his mother when he was 19 years old so they could be closer to his sister, Barbara. Billy always worked as a truck driver and thoroughly enjoyed his work. He worked for Reliant Trucking.
In his youth he liked hunting and fishing. As he grew up, Billy became something of a “shade-tree” mechanic, he enjoyed working on cars as well as trucks and didn’t mind lending a hand to a friend when needed. He always loved watching monster truck shows and competitions (as he was an enthusiast) and enjoyed playing video games as well.
In addition to his parents, Billy was predeceased by his fiancé’s granddaughter, Annabelle.
He leaves behind his sister and her family, Barbara and Lynnwood Hatton of Yulee; nieces and a nephew, Cathy (Ibn) Abdullah of Hilliard, Meagan (Jesse Jovero) Hatton of Jacksonville and Lynnwood (Taylor) Hatton, Jr. of Yulee; great nieces and nephews, Xavier, McKenzie and Lynnwood, III; his fiancé, Teresa Stuedemann and her children Jesse (Shannon), Damen, Kimberly and Heather and her grandchildren, Hailee, Baileigh, Emily, Alexis, Ava and Madison.
Funeral services for him will be held Friday, November 5, 2021 at 2:00 pm in the Burgess Chapel of Oxley-Heard Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends for the hour prior to the service.
Billy will be returned to his hometown of Dumas, AR where he will be laid to rest with his parents.
