William Howard Hubbard, Jr.
2026-02-11
William Howard Hubbard, Jr., 75, of Yulee passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at his home.
A native of Jacksonville, he was a son of the late William and Carolyn Belflower Croft Hubbard. He graduated from Paxon High School in Jacksonville. He and his wife, Fay, moved to Yulee from Jacksonville nearly 40 years ago.
He worked for CSX Transportation and retired after 40 years of service. Before illness prevented him from serving, he was an active member of First Coast Christian Center where he served as both an usher and greeter. Throughout his entire life he enjoyed meeting and talking to people.
Mr. Hubbard loved to collect old western movies and old Disney movies. When he was able, he enjoyed bowling and fishing. Above all else he enjoyed his family. He always liked being with them and having his family gathered together. He will be remembered as an honest man who loved the Lord and a faithful and loving husband.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Paul Croft and Cheryl Croft Clark.
He leaves behind his wife of 49 years, Fay Hubbard of Yulee; his children, Matthew Hubbard of Jacksonville and Ashley Hubbard of Yulee; a brother, Lawrence Croft of Dowling Park, FL; two brothers in law, Charles (Barbara) Houston of Middleburg and Larry (Sue) Porter of Lake City as well as a large extended family of nieces and nephews.
A service to remember and celebrate his life will be held Friday, February 27, 2026 at 11:00 AM in the Burgess Chapel of Oxley-Heard Funeral Directors.
