Although I now live far away, Ill be with you all and thinking of you this weekend. Uncle Windle was my favorite Uncle. Always the fun Uncle taking us for rides on the riding lawn mower and shooting in the back area of the house. I dont think I ever saw him have a bad day. Much love to everyone in the family, Cathi Van Sleet (Lindas daughter)

LINDA BROOKS ALLEN June 11, 2020
There is nothing in this world that can compare to having Windle as my big brother. There are a million things to be said about him..and they are all good. Now there arent many people you can say that about. He was an awesome brother to Sandy & I all of our lives, a loyal friend, a loving Dad, and a wonderful husband to Brenda. Now she has to be a saint herself to put up with any Brooks and we love her dearly for it.Windle had a big heart and he wore it on the outside for everyone to see. I hope that when you remember him that it will be with a warm smile and lots of good memories to tell everyone that one more thingabout a man you once knew who lived life to the fullest and grew up and lived in Fernandina. our family thanks all of you and we are happy that you were part of our lives too. Windle is at peace now and welcomed by our other family members who are in heaven too. he will always be a huge part of us. With sincere love, Linda (Brooks) Allen

Brenda I am deeply saddened and please accept my condolences. Windle was a great man. Windle and I worked together at Crowley and he was a great team player. He was a very hard worker and always made me laugh. I loved the way he could always make me laugh with his Elvis impersonations.. He always cheered me up. He taught me a lot during the time I had worked with him and respected him greatly for his knowledge and hard work ethics.
He will be missed a lot. God bless you and your family.

BRENDA BROOKS July 5, 2020
One month today you left me. Didnt think it would be so hard. Prepared as I was for your death, I am still in shock that you actually left me. I hear you in every room of the house. I see you lying in the hospital bed in the living room. I am so lost without you. I needed more time. Love you Brooks. Xoxo
